Brett Favre was absolutely horrible in the Minnesota Vikings loss to the Chicago Bears. The final score was 27-13 and puts the Bears in the hunt for the division lead with the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North. The Vikings meanwhile appear to have 4 blown tires entering the second half of the season.
A banged up Favre might be at the end of the line and either himself of the Vikings may have to make a decision on whether he should step aside and let the team start building for next season. The loss drops Minnesota to 3-6 on the season. They still have a shot, but the way they've been playing chances are slim for a recovery to salvage the season.
The Vikings got on the score board first on a Ryan Longwell 36 Yard Field Goal to put Minnesota up 3-0 in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Greg Olsen caught a 17 yard TD pass From Jay Cutler. The Vikings then countered with their lone big play of the day when Percy Harvin hauled in a 53 yard touchdown pass from Brett Favre. Devin Hester then caught a 19 yard touchdown from Jay Cutler to make the score 14-10 heading into half time.
The third quarter scoring consisted of 2 field goals by Robbie Gould for the Bears and a field goal by Ryan Longwell. The final scoring of the game came when Kellen Davis caught a 19 yard TD From Jay Cutler to make it a 27-13 ballgame.
Favre couldn't work his magic today and the well seems to have gone unfortunately dry. He ended the game with 3 interceptions.
